Automobiles in Germany's City Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Officers stated they were alerted by a resident who found a car in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Around fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then found numerous other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report preliminary tests show the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no indication as to its source; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the public for information.

A senior political figure commented the vandalism made him without words and had to be solved rapidly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack five years ago," he stated on social media, recalling the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
