BF6 Gamers Agree: Missions Are Way Too Hard

The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 was met with significant enthusiasm, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, simultaneous player numbers peaked at nearly 750,000. However, despite its popularity, many players are voicing discontent with several of the title's hardest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.

Gamers have begun turning to personalized games made via Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, underscoring just how grueling these assignments have become.

Understanding BF6 Assignments

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, different from the frequently updated day-to-day and weekly tasks. There are four classes of assignments, but while the majority merely grant skins and a few gadgets, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of getting a dozen out of forty-one key firearms available in the game.

Some of these restricted firearms could shortly make their appearance on rosters of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry via Reddit

Within Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how challenging and repetitive several of these challenges are. One user pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This mission is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it lacks nearly as many positive effects in fights as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

Meanwhile, using an LMG from the hip is highly imprecise and functions solely at very short distances, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that task would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Ridiculously Tough Mission

One more community participant brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the marksman rifle class to obtain the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with marksman guns

This is challenging enough on its own, but there's another important point to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.

There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing a specific urban map, a particular valley environment, and possibly a classic map if you're lucky if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.

The Bypass

There is a workaround though: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to make custom game modes on any map you prefer, featuring computer-controlled players. This implies you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the intended gameplay experience.

However, when doing the challenges in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you must engage in such an atypical style that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for completing them in a custom game so teammates aren't hindered?

Potential Changes

It is expected if a number of these missions are toned down in the near future, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply won't get their hands on the restricted guns.

Currently, the player base continues to share their thoughts on these demanding multiplayer missions, expecting a less arduous gaming experience in future updates.
