Prince William Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in South America
The Prince of Wales plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil in the coming weeks, according to the royal household.
The father and son duo appeared together on Thursday evening at a reception ahead of the environmental conference, which is set to be held in the Amazonian city of Belém.
Father and son were in attendance at the scientific institution event, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a pre-COP30 gathering co-hosted by the British authorities.
Climate Leadership Commitment
King Charles has been a consistent supporter of biodiversity preservation - and Prince William has inherited the mission, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be hosted in Rio before the COP summit.
Official representatives have described William's involvement at the forthcoming conference as stepping up an crucial position in "global climate discussions".
Previous Activities
The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were introduced to attendees such as environmentalists, scientists, climate change campaigners, foreign representatives and politicians.
This involvement featured addresses together with French leader Macron of France and other world leaders at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco earlier this year.

The UN meeting will align with the prince's own sustainability recognition program, which will wrap up in Rio de Janeiro the previous day he participates in the COP summit on 6 November.
Recently the prince characterized the prize competitors as "contemporary champions".

The King has been a prominent presence at past COP meetings, giving the opening address in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the reminder: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".
"I have spent a large proportion of my life trying to alert people to the survival risks confronting humanity over global warming, environmental shifts and ecological decline," the sovereign addressed participants.
